Fig. 26 Code B2470: Brake Light Switch, No Signal:

Symptom
ABS warning lamp lit, no ABS function

Condition
Fault is recorded in case of a break in lead continuity for more than 700 seconds. (If a fault occurs, the system closes down immediately, if the system is controlling, it does not close down until control has been completed. Fault codes are stored when the system is closed off)

Action:
1. Check with the ISAT command "BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH" on the "OBTAIN READOUTS" menu.
- Depress the brake with the ignition on ISAT shows ON.
- If ISAT shows shows "ON", proceed at "Test Procedure Prior to ECM Replacement" for further action. Test Procedure Prior to ECM Replacement
- If ISAT shows "OFF" connect the BOB cable and check for any break in the cable between pin 23 of the control module and the brake light switch.
- IF no break in the cable is discovered, check whether the brake light switch is defective.

2. If no fault has been discovered despite the above checks, clear the fault code. Test-drive the car and check whether the fault code re-appears. If so, go to Fig.28 for further action.
