Symptom
ABS warning lamp lit, ABS inoperative.
Condition
The fault code is recorded when the ignition is turned on and the control module carries out a connection test on the solenoid valves. The main relay is briefly activated twice and then breaks again. The pilot light goes out for a short time before remaining lit.
Action
1. Raise the car, and check the solenoid valve of the front left wheel with ISAT command "VALVE TEST FL" on the "ACTIVATE" menu.
- If the test shows "TEST OK", go to item 3, if not, continue with the next item.
- Remove the cover of the control module, Unplug the 6-pin connector of the solenoid valve from the control module.
NOTE: The connector is firmly sealed
- Measure the resistance in the coil of the solenoid valve by measuring on pins 5 and 6 of the connector.
- The resistance must be approx. 0.7 to 1.7 Ohms.
- If the resistance is Incorrect, replace the hydraulic unit.
- If the resistance is correct, continue with the next item.
3. Clear the fault, test drive the car and check whether the fault code re-appears. If so, Test Procedure Prior to ECM Replacement for further action.
