COMMUNICATION FAULT WITH ICE

This trouble code is generated in the event of incorrect data fault or if no data has been received from the ICE control module for more than 5 seconds.

Fault Symptoms

One or more of the following:

- The "REAR LIGHTS U/S" message does not work.
- The "BRAKE LIGHTS U/S" message does not work.
- The "TEST BRAKE LIGHTS" message does not work.
- The acoustic reminder does not work.
- The direction indicator acoustic repeater does not work.
- Diagnostic trouble code B1426 could be a consequential fault of B1428 if that DTC has also been generated.

Diagnostic Procedure

1 If diagnostic trouble code B1428 has also been generated, continue fault diagnosis under that DTC.





2 If diagnostic trouble code B1428 has not been generated, select the ISAT Scan Tool menu "SAAB INFO DISPLAY" and then "READ VALUES" and "DATA FROM ICE".

3 Simulate a message by removing a fuse or bulb. Read the result on the ISAT Scan Tool display. Checking the ICE Data

If this works, clear the trouble code.

If the right result is not obtained, check the wiring for continuity as described in diagnostic trouble code B1428.
