Potentiometer readings outside programmed limits.

Fault Symptoms

Different symptoms may occur, depending on the fault and the position of the hood. Some examples of symptoms are:

- The fifth bow latch closes before the fifth bow is all the way down.

- The tonneau cover is not latched in its lowest position.

Condition

These trouble codes will be generated if the control module reads a potentiometer value that is more than ten units greater than the value programmed for the end positions.

Diagnostic Procedure

1 Check that the potentiometer is correctly fitted and that it can move freely throughout the entire hood cycle. Rectify any faults.

2 Connect an ISAT Scan Tool and read "DTC DATA". Note the potentiometer value at which the diagnostic trouble code was stored in the memory. Compare this value with the values programmed for the potentiometer concerned. Try to repeat the fault by operating the hood to the values obtained with "DTC DATA".

3 If these values are outside the programmed values, the wrong values must be reprogrammed.
