B1307

Potentiometer power supply, overload/shorting.

Fault Symptom

The hood cannot be operated.

Condition

B1307 Overload on pin 15 (k42) or 29 (K42).

B1308 Shorting to battery positive or ground on pin 15 (K42) or 29 (k42).

Note: A diode fault between pins 1 and 3 in any of the potentiometers gives rise to diagnostic trouble code B1308.

Diagnostic Procedure

1 Read the positions of the potentiometers by means of the ISAT Scan Tool. If a reading of 0 is obtained on all of them, continue fault diagnosis. Otherwise clear the fault and check that it is not generated afresh.

2 Disconnect one potentiometer at a time, clear the trouble code and check whether it is generated afresh. If it persists after all the potentiometers have been disconnected, check the wiring harness for short circuiting.

3 If the trouble code disappears and is replaced by a trouble code for open circuit, there is a short circuit in the diodes in the affected potentiometer. Change the potentiometer.
