Fault symptom
The interior lighting does not work.

Conditions
B1217: Interior lighting shorted to battery positive.
B1222: Reading lamps shorted to battery positive.

Diagnostic procedure
1 Unplug the interior lighting switch connector. Check the switch by connecting a jumper lead between pins 5 and 3 of the connector and also between pins 4 and 1.
2 If the lamps work, change the switch and clear the diagnostic trouble code.
3 Connect a BOB and check the wiring between pin 23 of the Integrated Central Electronics (ICE) connector and pin 4 of the switch connector and also between pin 46 of the ICE connector and pin 5 of the switch connector.
