Diagnostic procedure
1 Check the lamp in the dashboard.
Important: The seat-belt warning lamp lights up for only 6 seconds when the ignition is switched on. Check points 2 and 3 when the lamp is on. (The lamp can be switched on with the Intelligent Saab Tester (ISAT) scan tool.)
2 Check that 12 V is present across pin 2 of the seat-belt warning lamp connector and a good ground. If it is not, check the lead between fuse 33 and the lamp.
3 Check that pin 1 of the lamp is connected to ground when activated.
4 If no ground connection is obtained, connect a BOB and check the lead between pin 56 of the Integrated Central Electronics (ICE) connector and pin 1 of the lamp connector for continuity/shorting.
5 Proceed to "Before Changing an Electronic Control Module".
