B1195

Fig. 14 Code B1195: Main Relay Circuit, Faulty:

Symptom
ABS warning lamp is lit, ABS inoperative.

Condition
Fault is recorded with ignition on and subsequent connection test if the battery voltage is less than 5V for more than 30 seconds, or during driving if the battery voltage is less than 5V for longer than 20 milliseconds.

Action

1. Check the voltage to the control module by using the ISAT command *BATT VOLTAGE +30 in the OBTAIN READOUTS menu.

The voltage must be at least equal to Batt+

If the voltage is correct, go to item 4. If the voltage is wrong, check fuse 22. Replace the fuse if necessary. If the fuse is intact, continue with the next item.

2. Disconnect the 4-pin connector from the control module with the ignition turned off. Measure where there is voltage between pins 2 and 3 of the connector. If there is voltage (approx. 12v), more on to item 4, otherwise continue with the next item.

3. Check the wire between pin 2 in the 4-pin connector and fuse 22 for short-circuit or break in continuity. Check the ground lead between pin 3 and grounding point G-30 as well.

4. Clear the fault code if no fault is discovered despite the above check, Test drive the car and check whether the fault code re-appears, if so, Test Procedure Prior to ECM Replacement for for further action.
