The tonneau cover latch microswitch is shorted to ground.

Condition

Shorting to ground on pin 26 (K42) or 40 (K42).

Diagnostic Procedure





1 Clear the trouble code if the ISAT Scan Tool shows correct readings. Check that the code is not generated afresh. If the scan tool shows shorting to ground, see point 2.

2 Unplug the connectors from the microswitches, checking on the ISAT Scan Tool at the same time to see what happens. If the scan tool changes from "shorting to ground" to "open circuit", there is a short circuit in the microswitch. Change the microswitch.

3 Connect a BOB and check the wiring harness for shorting to ground between pin 2 of the microswitch connector and pin 26 (k42) of the control module for the left-hand microswitch and pin 40 (K42) for the right-hand microswitch.
