B1174
Header latch microswitch, shorting to B+
Condition
Shorting to battery positive on either of control module pins 24 (K42) and 38 (K42)
Diagnostic Procedure
1 Connect an ISAT Scan Tool and read "HEADER LATCH". Clear the trouble code if the ISAT Scan Tool shows correct readings. Check that the code is not generated afresh. If the scan tool shows shorting to battery positive, see point 2.
2 Unplug the connectors from the microswitches, checking on the ISAT Scan Tool at the same time to see what happens. If the scan tool changes from "shorting to battery positive" to "open circuit", there is a short circuit in the microswitch. Change the microswitch.
3 Check the wiring harness for shorting to battery positive between pin 2 of the microswitch connector and pin 24 (K42) of the control module for the left-hand microswitch and pin 38 (K42) for the right-hand microswitch.
