B1172
Header latch microswitch shorted to ground.
Condition
Either of the pins 24 and 38 is shorting to ground.
Diagnostic procedure
1 Connect an ISAT Scan Tool and read "HEADER LATCH". Clear the trouble code if the scan tool shows correct readings. Check that the trouble code is not generated afresh.
2 Unplug the connectors from the microswitches, checking on the ISAT Scan Tool at the same time to see what happens. If the scan tool changes from "shorting to ground" to "open circuit", there is a short circuit in the microswitch. Change the microswitch.
3 Connect a BOB and check the wiring harness for shorting to ground between pin 2 of the microswitch connector and pin 24 (K42) of the control module for the left-hand microswitch and pin 38 (k42) for the right-hand microswitch.
