One of the microswitches in the windscreen frame latch fittings does not show the same information as the main potentiometer.

Fault Symptom

The SID message CHECK HEADER LATCHES may not be displayed.

Condition

The control module receives information from the main potentiometer and when this information does not coincide with the information received from the microswitches, this diagnostic trouble code is generated.

Diagnostic Procedure





1 Connect an ISAT Scan Tool and read "HEADER LATCH". Operate the hood so that both states of the microswitch (actuated/unactuated) are tested. Clear the trouble code if this is successful. Check that the code is not generated afresh.

2 If the microswitch or microswitches do not change state as above, check their mechanical operation. Change any defective microswitch.
