Clutch Master Cylinder: Service and Repair




Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Loosen the clip and disconnect the clutch reservoir tube from the clutch master cylinder assembly.
2. Using a 10 mm union nut wrench, disconnect the clutch line.




3. Remove the clip and hole pin.




4. Remove the nuts (1, 2) and clutch master cylinder.
5. Remove the clutch master cylinder bracket.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the clutch master cylinder bracket.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the clutch master cylinder with the nuts (1, 2) and tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb in).




3. Apply MP grease to the contact surface of the clevis bushing.

Note: Install the hole pin from the right side of the vehicle.

4. Connect the clevis to the clutch pedal sub-assembly with the hole pin.
5. Install the clip to the hole pin.




6. Using a 10 mm union nut wrench, connect the clutch line and tighten.

* Without a union nut wrench 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
* With a union nut wrench 14 Nm (10 lb ft).

7. Connect the clutch reservoir tube to the clutch master cylinder assembly with the clip.
