Reverse Clutch Housing and Input Shaft Disassemble




1. Remove the transmission case fluid passage gaskets.




2. Remove the direct clutch housing thrust bearing from the reverse clutch housing.




3. Remove the reverse clutch housing from the transmission case.
4. Remove the reverse clutch plates.




5. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring.
6. Remove the reverse clutch plates.




7. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring.
8. Remove the direct clutch plates.




9. Using a press and suitable adapter, remove the snap ring.
10. Remove the direct clutch spring from the reverse clutch housing assembly.




11. Install the reverse clutch housing onto the transmission case cover.

Note:
* Blowing air may cause the piston to jump out. When removing the piston, hold it by hand using a shop rag or piece of cloth.
* Do not splash ATF with compressed air.

12. Apply compressed air to the oil hole and remove the direct clutch piston from the reverse clutch housing assembly.




13. Install the reverse clutch housing onto the transmission case cover.
14. Put a matchmark on the direct clutch housing in the same position as the cutout of the reverse clutch housing.

Note:
* Blowing air may cause the housing to jump out. When removing the housing, hold it by hand using a shop rag or piece of cloth.
* Do not splash ATF with compressed air.

15. Apply compressed air to the oil hole and remove the direct clutch housing from the reverse clutch housing.
