Manual Shift Shaft Pin, Detent Lever, and Park Pawl Actuator Assembly Installation

1. Coat the parking pawl shaft with ATF WS.





Note: Check that the parking pawl moves smoothly.

2. Install the parking pawl, parking pawl spring (1), and parking pawl shaft to the transmission case.





Note: Do not damage the oil seal lip.

3. Install the manual shift shaft to the transmission case.




4. Install the parking pawl actuator to the manual shaft detent lever.
5. Coat the manual shaft and detent lever with ATF WS.
6. Install a new manual shaft detent lever spacer to the manual shift shaft.




7. Using a pin punch and hammer, drive in the pin.




8. Turn the spacer and manual shift shaft (1) to align the small hole for locating the staking position mark on the manual shift shaft.
9. Using a pin punch, stake the spacer through the small hole.
10. Check that the spacer does not turn.




11. Install the manual shift shaft retainer spring to the manual shift shaft.




12. Install the parking pawl actuator bracket to the transmission case with the bolts and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
