Part 5
201. Install the parking lock pawl bracket with the bolts and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
Note: Make sure to install the manual detent spring and cover in this order.
202. Install the manual detent spring with the bolts (1, 2) and tighten. Refer to Transmission General Specifications (Transmission General Specifications) for bolt length C.
* Bolt (1) to 20 Nm (16 lb ft)
* Bolt (2) to 12 Nm (106 lb in)
203. Coat a new O-ring (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the B-3 accumulator piston.
204. Coat the piston with ATF WS, install it to the transaxle.
* Accumulator Spring - B-3 Inner
* Free Length/Outer Diameter - 15.9-60.24 mm (0.626-2.3716 in)
* Color - yellowish/green
* Accumulator Spring - B-3 Outer
* Free Length/Outer Diameter - 21.7-74.61 mm (0.854-2.9374 in)
* Color - blue
205. Coat the new O-rings (1, 2) with ATF WS, and install them to the C-1 accumulator piston.
206. Install the spring (1) to the transaxle.
207. Coat the piston with ATF WS, and install it to the transaxle.
* Accumulator Spring - C-1
* Free Length/Outer Diameter - 18.5-81.53 mm (0.728-3.2098 in)
* Color - pink
208. Coat a new O-ring (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the C-3 accumulator piston.
209. Coat the piston with ATF WS, install it to the transaxle case.
* Accumulator Spring - C-3
* Free Length/Outer Diameter - 19.2-90.49 mm (0.756-3.5626 in)
* Color - white
210. Install the spring from the C-3 accumulator piston.
211. Install the check ball body and spring.
212. Coat a new brake drum gasket (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the transaxle.
213. Coat a new transaxle case 2nd brake gasket (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the transaxle.
214. Coat a new governor apply gasket No. 1 (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the transaxle.
215. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS, and install it to the transaxle solenoid wire.
216. Install the solenoid wire retaining bolt (1), and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
217. Align the groove of the manual valve with the pin of lever.
Note: Push the valve body against the accumulator piston spring and the check ball body to install it.
218. Install the bolts (1-3) and tighten to 11 Nm (978 lb in). Refer to Transmission General Specifications (Transmission General Specifications) for bolt length A.
219. Connect the solenoid connectors.
220. Coat the O-ring of the temperature sensor with ATF WS.
221. Install the ATF temperature sensor with the lock plate (1) and bolt and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb in).
222. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS.
223. Install the O-ring (1) to the oil strainer.
224. Install the oil strainer with the bolts (1) and tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
225. Install the magnets in the oil pan.
226. Install a new oil pan gasket to the oil pan.
Note: Because the bolts are seal bolts, apply Three Bond 1281 sealant, or equivalent, to new bolts and tighten them within 10 minutes after application.
227. Install the oil pan to the transaxle with the bolts and tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
228. Coat the new O-rings with ATF WS, and install them to the 4 plugs.
229. Install the 4 plugs to the transaxle case and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb in).
230. Coat the new O-rings with ATF WS, and install them to the speed sensors.
231. Install the speed sensors with the bolts and tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
232. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS, and install it to the oil cooler inlet tube union.
233. Install the union to the transaxle and tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).
234. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS, and install it to the oil cooler outlet tube union.
235. Install the union to the transaxle and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
236. Install the breather plug hose.
237. Install the park/neutral position switch to the manual valve shaft.
238. Hand tighten the bolts (1, 2).
239. Install a new lock plate and tighten the manual valve shaft nut to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
240. Hand tighten the control shaft lever.
241. Turn the lever counterclockwise until it stops, and then turn it clockwise two notches.
242. Remove the control shaft lever.
243. Align the groove with neutral basic line.
244. Hold the switch in this position and tighten the bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb in).
245. Using a screwdriver, stake the nut with the lock plate.
246. Install the control shaft lever with the washer and nut (1) and tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb in).
