Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (All Wheel Drive and GT)
Removal Procedure
1. Lower the rear suspension support crossmember in order to access the stabilizer shaft insulators. Refer to Rear Suspension Support Crossmember Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Service and Repair)Rear Suspension Support Crossmember Replacement (Two Wheel Drive) (Service and Repair).
2. Use paint in order to place match marks on the stabilizer shaft insulators (6, 13) and on the stabilizer shaft (14).
3. Remove the 4 bolts (3, 4, 8, 9).
4. Remove the 2 stabilizer shaft insulator brackets (5, 7).
5. Remove the 2 stabilizer shaft insulators (6, 13).
Installation Procedure
1. If you are replacing the insulators (6, 13), copy the match marks from the old components to the new components.
2. Align the match marks and install the insulators to the shaft.
3. Install the brackets to the insulators.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
4. Install the 4 bolts (3, 4, 8, 9) to the brackets.
Tighten the bolts to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).
5. Install the rear suspension support crossmember. Refer to Rear Suspension Support Crossmember Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Service and Repair)Rear Suspension Support Crossmember Replacement (Two Wheel Drive) (Service and Repair).
