Symptoms - Steering Wheel and Column

Visual/Physical Inspection
1. Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the steering system.
2. Inspect the easily accessible or visible steering components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
3. Verify the tires are the proper size. Refer to the tire placard on the vehicle.
If the tires are not the proper size, replace the tires. Refer to Tire Dismounting and Mounting (Removal and Replacement).
4. Measure the tire pressure. Adjust the tire pressure if necessary. Refer to the tire placard on the vehicle.
Intermittent Conditions
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections (Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections).
