Roof Side Rail Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to SIR Warning (SIR Warning).

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Remove the roof rail module electrical connector (1).




4. Remove the roof rail module pins (1).




5. Remove the 5 roof rail module bolts (1).
6. Separate the roof rail module with the 4 spacers (3) and clips (2).




7. Disengage the 5 roof rail module hooks (1).
8. Remove the roof rail module.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the roof rail module.
2. Engage the 5 roof rail module hooks (1).




3. Install 4 new clips (2) to retain roof rail module to body panel.




4. Install 4 new pins (1).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

5. Install the roof rail module bolts (1).

Tighten the roof rail module mounting bolts to 9.8 Nm (87 lb in).




6. Install the roof rail module electrical connector (1).
7. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
