Leak Detection Pump: Service and Repair




Evaporative Emission System Vacuum Leak Pump Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. Disconnect the EVAP filter line from the inlet port (4) of the EVAP vacuum leak pump (2) by pinching both sides of the hose connector fitting.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum leak pump.
4. Remove the 3 bolts and the EVAP vacuum leak pump (2) from the canister (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the EVAP vacuum leak pump (2) to the EVAP canister (3) and secure with 3 bolts.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the pump bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb in).

3. Connect the vacuum hose to the small port of the EVAP leak pump.
4. Connect the EVAP filter line to the inlet port (4) of the vacuum leak pump (2).
5. Install the EVAP canister to the vehicle. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement (Service and Repair).
