50. Timing Chain Housing Installation

Timing Chain Housing Installation





Note:
* Remove any oil from the contact surfaces.
* Install the chain cover within 3 minutes of applying seal packing.
* Do not add engine oil for at least 2 hours after installing the chain cover.

1. Apply Three Bond 1207B or equivalent (Diameter 4.0 to 4.5 mm (0.157 to 0.177 in) to position (1) as shown.
2. Apply Three Bond 1207B or equivalent to the timing chain cover.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the timing chain cover with the 12 bolts and 2 nuts.

* Tighten bolt 1 to 9.0 Nm (80 lb in).
* Tighten bolt 2 to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
* Tighten bolt 3 to 55 Nm (41 lb ft).
* Tighten bolt 4 to 11 Nm (8 lb ft).
