Valve Cover: Service and Repair




Camshaft Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove ignition coil assembly. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the 2 ventilation hoses (1, 2) from the cylinder head cover.




4. Remove the 2 bolts (1, 2) and separate the 2 wire harness brackets.




5. Remove the 8 bolts (1-7, 9) and 2 nuts (8, 10), then remove the cylinder head cover and gasket.

Installation Procedure

1. Remove any old sealing material from the contact surface.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the cylinder head cover gasket and cover with the 8 bolts (1, 2) and 2 nuts (3), then tighten.

* Bolt (1) to 11 Nm (8 lb ft)
* Bolt (2) to 14 Nm (10 lb ft)
* Nut (3) to 11 Nm (8 lb ft)




3. Install the 2 engine wire harness brackets with the 2 bolts (1, 2) and tighten to 8.4 Nm (74 lb in).




4. Connect the 2 ventilation hoses (1, 2) to the cylinder head cover.
5. Install ignition coil assembly. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Inspect for oil leak.
7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
