Park Brake Hardware Inspection




1. Visually inspect the shoe retaining springs (4,5,14) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion
* Excessive stretching
* Broken hook ends
* Twisting or binding
* Missing

2. Visually inspect the shoe hold down springs (9,16) for the following conditions:

* Bent
* Broken
* Missing

3. Visually inspect the park brake lever (6) and the strut (7) for the following conditions:

* Bent
* Broken
* Missing

4. Visually inspect the park brake shoe adjuster (10,11,15) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion
* Broken
* Binding
* Missing

5. Replace the park brake hardware with the park brake shoes if necessary. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (All Wheel Drive and GT) (Service and Repair).
