Hood Hinge: Service and Repair




Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the left front fender, if necessary. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Left Side (Front Fender Replacement - Left Side).
4. Remove the right front fender, if necessary. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Front Fender Replacement - Right Side).




5. Mark the position of the hood hinges to ease assembly.
6. Remove the hinge bolts from the hood.
7. Remove the hood hinge (1).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

Note: When replacing the hood hinge, apply anti-corrosion treatment to the hinge and the body mating surface, and to the hinge and the hood mating surface. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair ().

1. Install the hood hinge (1) to the vehicle, aligning the mating marks. Secure the hinge with the 2 mounting bolts and tighten to 13 Nm (10 lb ft).
2. Install the left front fender, if removed. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Left Side (Front Fender Replacement - Left Side).
3. Install the right front fender, if removed. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Front Fender Replacement - Right Side).
4. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
