P0560
DTC P0560
Diagnostic Instructions
* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle) prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis (Strategy Based Diagnosis) for an overview of the diagnostic approach.
* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions (Diagnostic Procedure Instructions) provides an overview of each diagnostic category.
DTC Descriptor
DTC P0560
- System Voltage
Circuit/System Description
Battery positive voltage is supplied to the powertrain control module (PCM) continuously, regardless of ignition switch position. The battery positive voltage is used for the PCM keep alive memory and the air-fuel ratio adaptive control memory. If DTC P0560 is set, the PCM will not store any other DTCs.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* The ignition is ON.
* DTC P0560 runs continuously when the above condition is met
Conditions for Setting the DTC
No battery voltage detected at the PCM battery positive voltage circuit for greater than 3 seconds.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC P0560 is a type A DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P0560 is a type A DTC.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P0560 should not set.
2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Circuit/System Testing
Warning: Refer to Electric Coolant Fan Warning (Service Precautions).
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the PCM.
2. Ignition OFF, verify a test lamp illuminates between the battery voltage circuit terminal X1-20 and ground.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the battery voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
3. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
