Oil Pressure Relief Valve Replacement (Primary)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement Service and Repair




2. Remove the oil pressure relief valve plug (1).
3. Remove the valve spring (2).
4. Remove the valve piston (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Clean the plug thread, spring and piston.
2. Install the valve piston (3).
3. Install the valve spring (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the oil pressure relief valve plug (1).

Tighten the oil pressure relief valve plug to 21 Nm (15.5 lb ft).

5. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement (Service and Repair).
