Front Fender Replacement (Notchback)

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Caution (Service Precautions).

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the necessary bolts from the splash shield.
3. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Notchback) (Headlamp Replacement (Notchback))Headlamp Replacement (Hatchback) (Headlamp Replacement (Hatchback)).
4. Remove the two screws attaching the front fascia to the fender.




5. Remove the screws underneath the front bumper fascia.




6. Remove the bolt at the base of the fender.
7. Remove the air inlet panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




8. Open the front door. Remove the bolt at the base of the windshield pillar.




9. Remove the bolts along the top of the fender.
10. Remove the repeater lamp. Refer to Repeater Lamp Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Remove the fender.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the fender.
2. Install the repeater lamp. Refer to Repeater Lamp Replacement (Service and Repair).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the bolts along the top of the fender and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




4. Install the bolt at the base of the windshield pillar and tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb in).
5. Install the air inlet panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




6. Install the bolts at the base of the fender and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




7. Secure the fender to the front bumper fascia with the screw and tighten to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
8. Secure the fender behind the front bumper fascia with the screws and tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb in).




9. Install the necessary splash shield screws and tighten to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
10. Install the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Notchback) (Headlamp Replacement (Notchback))Headlamp Replacement (Hatchback) (Headlamp Replacement (Hatchback)).
11. Lower the vehicle.
