- Keyless Entry Data Link Circuit Range/Performance

Circuit/System Description

The Onstar module communicates with the RKE module through the IPC. The IPC is the gateway connecting the Onstar and RKE. Using data link circuit the Onstar module can send a signal to RKE in order to control the door lock/unlock.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The Onstar module did not receive the response from RKE module.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The Onstar module can not control the door lock/unlock.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The current DTC clears when the fault is no longer present.

Circuit/System Verification

Verify that the remote keyless entry door lock and unlock functions operate normal.

If the remote keyless entry door lock and unlock functions do not operate normal refer to Symptoms - Keyless Entry (Symptoms - Keyless Entry).

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
