Forward Clutch Assembly Assemble

DT-47693-2 Dam Protector




1. Install the forward clutch hub onto the transmission case.




2. Install the forward clutch hub thrust bearing to the forward clutch hub.




3. Coat a new input shaft oil seal ring with ATF WS, and install it to the input shaft on the forward clutch housing.




4. Coat a new clutch piston seal (1) with ATF WS, and install it to the forward clutch lower piston.




5. Install the forward clutch lower piston to the forward clutch housing.




6. Install the spring and upper piston to the forward clutch housing.




7. Using a press, DT-47693-2 (1), and snap ring pliers, install the snap ring to the forward clutch housing.




8. Install the forward clutch plates (1, 3).
9. Using a screwdriver, install the snap ring to the forward clutch housing.




10. Inspect the pack clearance of the forward clutch.

Note: If the clearance is not within the specified range, install a new brake plate.

11. Using a dial indicator, measure the pack clearance while applying and releasing compressed air.

Pack clearance - 1.41-1.80 mm (0.0555-0.0708 in)

12. There are 4 different thicknesses of plates available. Refer to Transmission General Specifications (Transmission General Specifications) Transmission General Specifications.




13. Install the forward clutch housing thrust bearing to the input shaft on the forward clutch housing.




14. Install the forward clutch housing assembly to the transmission case.
