Transmission Assemble




1. Install new O-rings to the plugs.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the plugs to the transaxle housing and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb in).




3. Coat the new O-rings with ATF WS, and install them to the plugs.
4. Install the plugs to the transaxle case and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb in).




5. Coat the new O-rings with ATF WS, and install them to the speed sensors.
6. Install the speed sensors with the bolts and tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb in).




7. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS, and install it to the oil cooler inlet tube union.
8. Install the union to the transaxle and tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).




9. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS, and install it to the oil cooler outlet tube union.
10. Install the union to the transaxle and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
11. Install the vent hose.




12. Install the park/neutral position switch to the manual valve shaft.
13. Hand tighten the bolts (1, 2).
14. Install a new lock plate and tighten the manual valve shaft nut to 5 Nm (44 lb in).




15. Hand tighten the control shaft lever.




16. Turn the lever counterclockwise until it stops, and then turn it clockwise two notches.
17. Remove the control shaft lever.




18. Align the groove with neutral basic line.
19. Hold the switch in this position and tighten the bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb in).




20. Using a screwdriver, stake the nut with the lock plate.




21. Install the control shaft lever with the washer and nut (1) and tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb in).
