Output Carrier Assembly Disassemble

Special Tools
* DT-48145 Press Plate
* J 22912-B Rear Pinion and Axle Bearing Remover





Note: Be careful so that the underdrive planetary gear assembly will not fall out.

1. Remove the output carrier assembly from the transaxle.




2. Using a punch and hammer, loosen the staked part of the nut.




3. Clamp the output carrier assembly (1) in soft jaw vise.




4. Remove the lock nut from the output carrier assembly (1).




5. Using a press and J 22912-B (1) remove the bearing inner race.




6. Using a press and DT-48145 (1), remove the differential drive pinion gear, output carrier park lock gear, and ball bearing.
7. Clamp the output carrier gear in soft jaw vise.




8. Using J 22912-B (1) remove the rear bearing inner race from the output carrier assembly.




9. Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring (1).




10. Remove the output carrier internal gear (1) from the front differential transfer driven gear (2).
