2nd Clutch Housing Assemble

J 41107 Axle Seal Installer Kit





Note:
* P = Plate (2)
* D = Disc (1)

1. Install the 5 plates and 5 discs.
Make sure you install in order - P-D-P-D-P-D-P-D-P-D




2. Using a vernier caliper, measure the distance between the disc surface and the contact surface of the 2nd clutch and transaxle (Dimension A).
3. Select an appropriate flange so that the pack clearance will meet the specified value. 0.745 to 1.21 mm (0.0293 - 0.0476 in.) Refer to Transmission General Specifications (Transmission General Specifications) for standard flange thickness B.




4. Install the flange.




5. Coat the new O-rings with ATF WS, and install them into the 2nd clutch piston.




6. Press in the 2nd clutch piston into the 2nd clutch housing with your hands.




7. Install the piston return spring.




8. Compress the piston return spring with a press and J 41107 and 4 equal length blocks (1).

Note: Be sure the end gap of the snap ring is not aligned with the piston return spring claw.

9. Using a screwdriver, install the snap ring.




10. Install the 2nd clutch piston to the transaxle.

Note:
* Because the taper snap ring has the positioning direction, check it when installing.
* When the diameter does not satisfy the specified value, replace the snap ring with a new one.

11. Install the snap ring and measure the inside diameter.

Standard inside diameter is more than 167 mm (6.57 in).
