Front Fender Replacement (Notchback)

Removal Procedure





Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice (Vehicle Damage Warnings).

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the necessary bolts from the splash shield.
3. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Notchback) (Service and Repair)Headlamp Replacement (Hatchback) (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the two screws attaching the front fascia to the fender.




5. Remove the screws underneath the front bumper fascia.




6. Remove the bolt at the base of the fender.
7. Remove the air inlet panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




8. Open the front door. Remove the bolt at the base of the windshield pillar.




9. Remove the bolts along the top of the fender.
10. Remove the repeater lamp. Refer to Repeater Lamp Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Remove the fender.


Installation Procedure




1. Install the fender.
2. Install the repeater lamp. Refer to Repeater Lamp Replacement (Service and Repair).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

3. Install the bolts along the top of the fender.

Tighten the upper fender bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




4. Install the bolt at the base of the windshield pillar.

Tighten the fender-to-windshield pillar bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

5. Install the air inlet panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




6. Install the bolts at the base of the fender.

Tighten the lower fender bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




7. Secure the fender to the front bumper fascia with the screw.

Tighten the front bumper fascia screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

8. Secure the fender behind the front bumper fascia with the screws.

Tighten the fender screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).




9. Install the necessary splash shield screws.

Tighten the splash shield screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

10. Install the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Notchback) (Service and Repair)Headlamp Replacement (Hatchback) (Service and Repair).
11. Lower the vehicle.
