Folding Top Number 4 Bow Replacement

Removal Procedure






Important: The folding top will be required to be supported.

1. Remove the front folding top cover retainer (1).
2. Remove the left and right side front weatherstrips.
3. Remove the left and right side front weatherstrip retainers.

Important: The folding top cover retainer flap is glued to the front side rail.

4. Fold back the front and the side edges of the folding top cover by releasing the retaining strip to expose the No. 4 bow.
5. Drill out the rivets and P-clips from the retainer straps and cable.
6. Reposition the retainer straps and cable from the No. 4 bow (4).
7. Remove the extrusion from the No. 4 bow.
8. Mark the position of the No. 4 bow to the lower links.
9. Remove the screws (3) from the No. 4 bow.
10. Remove the No. 4 bow from the folding top.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the No. 4 bow (4) to the alignment marks on the lower links.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the screws (3) to the No. 4 bow.

Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Reposition the P-clips, retainer straps and cable the No. 4 bow.
4. Rivet the P-clips and the retainer straps and cable to the No. 4 bow.
5. Install the extrusion to the No. 4 bow, pressing into place.

Important: The old adhesive must be removed and follow the manufacture directions for the new adhesive.

6. Reposition the folding top cover retainer strips to the front bow and side edge of the folding top to the side rails.
7. Install the front folding top cover retainer (1).
8. Install the left and right side front weatherstrip retainers.
9. Install the left and right side front weatherstrips.
10. Inspect the folding top for proper fit and operation.
