Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Front



SEAT BELT BUCKLE REPLACEMENT - FRONT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 8 in Restraint Systems.

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the front seat.




3. Disconnect the seat belt buckle pretensioner connector (4) from the seat.
4. On the driver's seat, disconnect the seat belt buckle switch connector (3) from the seat.
5. Remove the wire ties securing the wiring harness to the underside of the seat.
6. Remove the bolt (2) and the seat belt buckle and pretensioner assembly (1).

IMPORTANT: The seat belt buckle and pretensioner assembly attaching bolt is captive to the assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the seat belt buckle and pretensioner assembly (1). Secure with the bolt (2).

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: When installing the seat belt buckle and pretensioner assembly, ensure that the front locating pin is aligned with the seat frame.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the seat belt buckle and pretensioner assembly bolt to 42.5 N.m (31 lb ft).

2. Secure the wiring harness to the underside of the seat using wire ties.
3. On the driver's seat, connect the seat belt buckle switch connector (3) to the seat.
4. Connect the seat belt buckle pretensioner connector (4) to the seat.
5. Install the front seat.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 8 in Restraint Systems.
