Evaporative Emissions Hose: Service and Repair
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) HOSES/PIPES REPLACEMENT - ENGINE
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve any vapor pressure.
NOTE: Clean all of the following areas before performing any disconnections in order to avoid possible contamination in the system:
- The fuel pipe connections
- The hose connections
- The areas surrounding the connections
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove both engine sight shield covers.
4. Disconnect the EVAP purge pipe (2) by squeezing the retaining clip and pulling the hose from the solenoid.
5. Disconnect the engine vacuum pipe (3) from the purge solenoid.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EVAP purge pipe (2) on the hose from the solenoid.
2. Install the engine vacuum pipe (3) on the purge solenoid.
3. Install the fuel filler cap.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Install both engine sight shield covers.
