Canister Vent Valve: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER VENT SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the right rear wheelhouse liner panel.




2. Compress the clamp (1) on the canister vent valve end of the canister vent hose (2), and slide the clamp back along the hose.
3. Rotate the canister vent hose back and forth, and pull to remove it from the canister vent valve (4).
4. Depress the locking tang and remove the wiring harness connector (3) from the canister vent valve.
5. Insert a thin blade screwdriver between the canister vent valve and the mounting bracket to release the retaining tang, and remove the canister vent valve.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the canister vent valve to the mounting bracket.
2. Connect the wiring harness connector (3) to the canister vent valve.
3. Install the canister vent hose.
4. Compress the clamp (1) and install on the canister vent valve end of the canister vent hose (2).
5. Install the right rear wheelhouse liner panel.
