Clutch Pedal Assembly: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure1. Remove the clutch cable adjustment nut (3) from the clutch cable end at the clutch release lever (4).
2. Remove the clutch cable clevis (1) from the clutch pedal lever.
3. Release the tension on the clutch pedal return spring.
4. Remove the clutch pedal shaft bolt (4) and the nut from the clutch and from the brake pedal bracket (3).
5. Remove the clutch pedal assembly from the clutch and from the brake pedal bracket.
6. Inspect the clutch pedal shaft bushings (5) for excessive wear. Replace the clutch pedal shaft bushings as necessary.
7. Inspect the clutch pedal return spring (7) for distortion or for damage. Replace the clutch pedal return spring as necessary.
Installation Procedure
1. Apply tension to the free end of the clutch pedal return spring (7), and position the spring into the clutch and into the brake pedal bracket (3).
2. Apply some lithium grease GM P/N 1051344 to the bushings.
3. Install the clutch pedal assembly into the clutch and into the brake pedal bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the clutch pedal shaft bolt (4) and the nut (14) into the clutch and into the brake pedal bracket.
Tighten the clutch pedal shaft bolt and the nut to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the clutch cable clevis onto the clutch pedal lever.

6. Install the clutch cable adjustment nut onto the clutch cable end at the clutch release lever.
