7. Timing Belt Removal

1. Remove the eight bolts and the one nut which secure the timing belt cover.





2. Remove the timing belt cover (12).





Important: Before removing the timing belt, align the upper timing marks and the lower timing marks by turning the crankshaft.

3. Align the upper timing marks (1,2).





4. Align the lower timing mark on the oil pump cover (1) and on the lower timing belt sprocket (2).





5. Loosen the timing belt tensioner bolt (2) and the stud (1).





6. After lifting the tensioner plate (1) with your finger, remove the belt from the crankshaft timing belt pulley and from the camshaft timing belt pulley
