34. Oil Pump Clean and Inspect

1. Inspect the following items for the excessive wear or for damage:
^ The oil pump outer gear (1).
^ The oil pump inner gear (2).
^ The oil pump cover
^ The oil pump body
^ The pressure relief valve
2. Measure the radial clearance between the oil pump outer gear and the body of the oil pump using a feeler gauge. Replace the outer gear of the oil pump and/or of the oil pump if the clearance exceeds 0.310 mm (0.0122 inch).





3. Measure the side clearance between the oil pump gears and a straightedge using a feeler gauge. Replace the gears if the clearance exceeds 0.15 mm (0.0059 inch).
