Brake Pedal Assy: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the cotter pin and clevis pin from the vacuum booster pushrod.
2. Remove the pedal spring (7).
3. Remove the pedal shaft bolt (1) and the nut.
4. Inspect the brake pedal bushings (3) for wear. Replace the brake pedal bushings if necessary.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the pedal to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Secure the pedal with a shaft bolt (1) and a nut.
- Tighten the pedal shaft bolt (1) and the nut to 24 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the pedal spring (7).
4. Install the cotter pin and the clevis pin to the vacuum booster pushrod.
