Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement (4-Door)

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
3. Remove the plastic clips and the trim panel (8) from the right-side hinge pillar.




4. Remove the plastic clips and the trim panel (3) from the left-side hinge pillar.




5. Remove the front right sill plate (9) by removing the plastic retainers.
6. Remove the front left sill plate by removing the plastic retainers.
7. Remove the right rear sill plate (7) by removing the plastic retainers.
8. Remove the left rear sill plate by removing the plastic retainers.
9. Gently pry the following components from the vehicle:

* The lower trim panel (10) on the right-side center pillar
* The lower trim panel on the left-side center pillar




10. Raise the rear seat cushion at the front edge, and disengage the clips.
11. Remove the shifter boot from the console, if equipped.
12. Remove the shift control lever console (1) by removing the 4 screws.
13. Remove the parking brake lever bezel (3) by removing the 2 screws.
14. Remove the lower anchor bolts that retain the front seat belt from the floor pan.




15. Remove the 4 plastic retainers that retain the carpet under the instrument panel.
16. Disconnect the connector of the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).
17. Remove the retainer that retains the instrument panel console bracket. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
18. Remove the front floor carpet (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front floor carpet (1) into the vehicle.
2. Connect the connector of the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).
3. Install the instrument panel console bracket to the vehicle. Secure the bracket with the retainer.
4. Secure the carpet under the instrument panel with 4 plastic retainers.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the lower anchor bolts of the front seat belt to the floor pan.

Tighten the front seat belt bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).

6. Install the parking brake lever bezel (3). Secure the bezel to the vehicle with the 2 screws.
7. Install the shift control lever console (1). Secure the console to the vehicle with the 4 screws.
8. Install the shifter boot, if equipped.
9. Secure the front edge of the rear seat cushion by pressing the plastic retaining clips into place.




10. Install the following components to the vehicle:

* The lower trim panel (10) of the right side center pillar
* The lower trim panel of the left side center pillar




11. Install the trim panel (3) to the left-side hinge pillar. Secure the panel with the plastic retainers.




12. Install the trim panel (8) to the left-side hinge pillar. Secure the panel with the plastic retainers.
13. Install the left rear sill plate. Secure the sill plate with the plastic retainers.
14. Install the right rear sill plate (7). Secure the sill plate with the plastic retainers.
15. Install the left front sill plate. Secure the sill plate with the plastic retainers.
16. Install the right front sill plate (9). Secure the sill plate with the plastic retainers.
17. Install the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
18. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
