Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement (2-Door)

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
3. Remove the plastic clips and the trim panel (10) from the right-side hinge pillar.




4. Remove the plastic clips and the trim panel (3) from the left-side hinge pillar.




5. Remove the front right sill plate (11) by removing the plastic retaining clips.
6. Remove the front left sill plate by removing the plastic retaining clips.
7. Remove the lower, rear quarter trim panels. Refer to Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement).
8. Remove the shifter boot from the console, if necessary.




9. Remove the shift control lever console (1) by removing the 4 screws.
10. Remove the 2 screws and the parking brake lever bezel (3).
11. Remove the lower anchor bolts of the front seat belt from the floor pan.




12. Remove the 4 plastic retainers that retain the carpet under the instrument panel near the bulkhead.
13. Remove the retainer that retains the instrument panel console bracket. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
14. Disconnect the connector of the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).
15. Remove the passenger compartment floor carpet (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front floor carpet (1) into the vehicle.
2. Connect the connector of the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).
3. Install the instrument panel console bracket. Secure the bracket with the retainer.
4. Secure the carpet under the instrument panel with 4 plastic retainers.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the lower anchor bolts of the front seat belt to the floor pan.

Tighten the front seat belt bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).

6. Install the parking brake lever bezel (3) to the vehicle. Secure the bezel with the 2 screws.
7. Install the shift control lever console (1) to the vehicle. Secure the console with the 4 screws.




8. Install the shifter boot, if equipped.
9. Install the lower, rear quarter trim panels. Refer to Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement (Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement).
10. Install the trim panel (3) to the left-side hinge pillar. Secure the panel with the plastic retainers.




11. Install the trim panel (10) to the right-side hinge pillar. Secure the panel with the plastic retainers.
12. Install the left front sill plate. Secure the plate with the plastic retainers.
13. Install the right front sill plate (11). Secure the plate with the plastic retainers.
14. Install the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
15. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
