Rear Compartment Lid Latch Striker Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Fold back the following components:

* The carpet
* The spare tire cover

2. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* 9 plastic retaining clips
* The rear end interior trim panel (5)




3. Disconnect the lamp switch electrical connector.
4. Remove the lock striker cover from the lock striker.
5. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release cable from the lock striker, if equipped.
6. Remove the screw and the lamp switch from the lock striker, if equipped.




7. Remove 2 bolts and the lock striker (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the rear compartment lid release cable to the lock striker, if equipped.
2. Install the lock striker (2) to the vehicle. Secure the lock striker with 2 bolts.




3. Install the rear compartment lid lamp switch to the lock striker (6), if equipped. Secure the lamp switch with 1 screw.
4. Connect the lamp switch electrical connector.
5. Install the rear end interior trim panel (5). Secure the trim panel with 9 plastic retaining clips.
6. Reposition the following components:

* The spare tire cover
* The carpet




7. Adjust the lock striker (2) by performing the following steps. Refer to Body Rear End Adjustment Specifications (2 Door) ()Body Rear End Adjustment Specifications (4 Door ) ().

1. Loosen the 2 bolts.
2. Properly align the lock striker (2) by moving the striker in the following directions as needed:

* Left
* Right
* Forward
* Rearward

8. Install the lock striker cover to the lock striker.
