Front Lower

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





2. Remove the following items from the control arm (7):
- The stabilizer shaft link nut
- The washer
- The insulator

3. Remove the ball stud bolt.
4. Separate the ball joint from the knuckle.
5. Bend the locking tabs.





6. Remove the two control arm front mounting bracket retaining bolts.
7. Remove the two bolts from the control arm rear mounting bracket (13).
8. Remove the control arm rear mounting bracket (13).
9. Remove the control arm (6) from the vehicle.
10. Remove the front mounting bracket (10) from the control arm (6).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the front mounting bracket (10) to the new control arm (6).
2. Install the control arm (6) to the vehicle.
3. Secure the arm with four bolts. Install two bolts at the front mounting bracket (10) and install two bolts at the rear mounting bracket (13). Do not fully tighten the bolts.
4. Install the ball joint to the knuckle (2). Secure the ball joint with a bolt threaded into the steering knuckle.
Tighten Ball joint bolt to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the following items to the control arm (6):
- The stabilizer link insulator
- The washer
- The nut

Tighten
- Control arm rear bracket bolts to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.).
- Control arm front bracket bolts to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.).
- Ball joint nut to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
- Stabilizer link nut to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Inspect the toe and adjust as required. Refer to the following:
