Removal Procedure

Caution: The seat belt assembly and/or bracket assembly must be replaced as a unit only. Do not substitute parts for any reason, or personal injury could result.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Remove the following items from the front seat:
^ The bolt.
^ The washer.
^ The spacer.
^ The front seat belt buckle (4).
3. Disconnect the seat belt switch electrical connector (5).
4. Remove the following components:
^ The front seat belt lower anchor bolt.
^ The washers.
^ The spacer.
5. Open the cover and remove the following components:
^ The front seat belt upper guide loop (1) anchor bolt.
^ The washers.
^ The spacer.
6. Remove the lower rear quarter trim panel.
7. Remove the following items,from the vehicle:
^ The screw.
^ The front seat belt retractor bolt.
^ The washers.
^ The front seat belt retractor (2).

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the front seat belt retractor (2) to the vehicle. Secure the retractor with the screw, the washers, the spacer and the front seat belt retractor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the front seat belt retractor bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

2. Install the front seat belt guide loop (1) to the B-pillar. Secure the guide loop with the anchor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the front seat belt guide loop anchor bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

3. Install the front seat belt lower anchor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the front seat belt lower anchor bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

4. Connect the seat belt switch electrical connector (5).
5. Install the front seat belt buckle (4) to the front seat. Secure the buckle with the one bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the front seat belt buckle bolt to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).

6. Install the lower rear quarter trim panel.
7. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
