EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the two vacuum hoses from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.
2. Remove the two bolts from the EGR valve to the intake manifold.
3. Remove the EGR valve and gasket (1) from the intake manifold.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EGR valve and a new gasket (1) to the intake manifold.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Secure the EGR valve with the two bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the two EGR valve bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

3. Connect the two vacuum hoses to the EGR valve.
