Turn Signal Flasher: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: The turn signal/hazard relay is located on the top of the junction block beneath the instrument panel's left side.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.

2. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system.
3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
3.1. The 2 plastic retainers
3.2. The left hinge pillar trim panel
4. Remove the bolt and lower the junction block in order to access the turn signal/hazard relay.
5. Remove the turn signal/hazard relay by pushing the side tabs while pulling the relay straight out.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Firmly push the turn signal/hazard relay into the receptacle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Reposition the junction block. Secure the junction block with 1 bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the junction block bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the left hinge pillar trim panel. Secure the trim panel with the 2 plastic retainers.
4. Enable the SIR system.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
