Horn: Description and Operation

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The horn is located under the hood. The horn is attached to the left side of the radiator core support. The horn actuates by depressing the horn buttons. The horn buttons are located on the edge of the steering wheel. The horn buttons are incorporated into the steering wheel pad. The horn buttons are not serviceable. If the horn buttons are defective, replace the steering wheel pad.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The HAZARD fuse applies voltage to the horn relay. The horn relay coil is grounded when either of the following switches are closed:
^ The left side horn switch
^ The right side horn switch

Then the following actions occur:
1. The horn relay energizes.
2. The contacts close.
3. The horn receives voltage.

The horn is permanently grounded at G102. The horn sounds until you release both the left side and the right side horn switches.
