High-Mounted Stoplamp
GENERAL DESCRIPTI0NThe high-mounted lamp operates in conjunction with the stoplamps whenever you press the brake pedal:
^ On 2-door models, the stoplamp consists of 1 bulb and is located at the bottom of the hatchback door window.
^ On 4-door models, the stoplamp consists of 2 bulbs and is located in the center of the rear seat-to-rear window trim panel.
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The stop fuse receives voltage at all times. When you depress the brake pedal, voltage is applied through the closed contacts of the stoplamp switch to the following components:
^ The left stoplamp
^ The right stoplamp
^ The center high mounted stoplamp
All of the stoplamps are permanently grounded. The stoplamps light when power and ground are supplied.
